The unit of inventory

One agent run. One panel. One impression.

An impression is not an app launch, a terminal refresh, or every prompt inside one run. It is one sponsor panel shown during one agent run.

1

A run starts. The terminal opens the sponsor panel beside the agent session.

2

The panel stays visible. It remains clickable for the whole run. No mid-run rotation.

3

The run ends. That is one delivered impression, with the visible duration recorded.

A long run

One impression, more visibility

A four-hour run counts once, but the sponsor is on screen for four hours. We report median visible time separately.

A busy developer

Every run counts

Ten agent runs create ten impressions. Delivery is based on runs, not on how many hours someone sits at the keyboard.

One placement

No carousel

One sponsor per run. No audio, video, or rotating creative. The panel stays consistent while the agent works.

Where it appears

In the terminal, during the work.

Developers see the panel while the agent edits files, runs tools, and waits for the next step. It is a high-attention moment, not a banner buried in a feed.

Audience

Developers using AI coding agents

Technical users already paying for a terminal workflow, not a generic display audience.

Attention

Long, visible sessions

The panel remains on screen while the agent works. Advertisers see delivered impressions and median visible time.

Context

Productive, not interruptive

The panel sits beside the agent. It does not block the run, play sound, or interrupt a tool call.

Three formats

Make it fit the terminal.

Use an image with copy, let the image carry the whole panel, or keep it entirely typographic.

Image + copy

Best for product launches and visual offers. The image sits above the headline and body.

Terminal screenshot with an image-only sponsor panel

Image only

The creative fills the panel. No headline, body, or wordmark. Just the image and the click.

Text only

Wordmark, headline, body, and accent color. Sharp at any size and fast to load.

Image + copy: 1600 × 600 px · wide 8:3 banner Image only: 1600 × 900 px · 16:9 full panel Upload max: 1600 × 1000 px · 8 MB Files: PNG, JPG, WebP · GIF uses first frame Safe area: keep logos and words in the central 80% No video or audio

Screenshots show the panel at 60 columns. The actual layout adapts to the terminal size.

Packages

Buy delivery, not a lottery.

Campaigns are paced by purchased impressions. Paid campaigns receive fair delivery, and stop when the package is delivered or the flight ends.

Advertising terms and refund policy

Why advertise now

Your spend helps make the terminal free.

Advertisers fund the model tokens behind Freebuild Terminal. Enough advertiser demand lets us remove the subscription and open the terminal to everyone.

1

Reach developers while they build, not while they scroll a feed.

2

Fund the model budget that every terminal run depends on.

3

Unlock free access as inventory and advertiser demand grow.

Advertiser support

Campaigns get access to new formats, inventory, and campaign tools. We review every campaign manually and work closely with advertisers.

Beta inventory is limited. Campaigns may wait for an opening while we protect delivery quality.

How it works

Design it. We review it. Then you pay.

01

Build the campaign

Choose a format, upload a creative, add copy, and set a preferred start date.

02

Submit for review

We check the creative, link, and fit. Rejected campaigns can be edited and resubmitted.

03

Pay after approval

Only approved campaigns receive a Stripe Checkout link. Nothing serves unpaid.

04

Track delivery

See delivered impressions, clicks, CTR, and median visible time from the advertiser portal.

Why approval first

You are not charged for a rejected creative. We review the layout and link before asking for payment, so the first charge only happens when the campaign is ready to run.

Live and paid campaigns are read-only in place. Duplicate one to start a new draft and a new flight.

Measurement

Know what was delivered.

Every campaign gets its own delivery and engagement view. No shared spreadsheets, no mystery numbers.

Questions

Before you build.

What exactly is an impression?

One sponsor panel shown during one agent run. It is not an app launch, a refresh, or each prompt inside the same run. A long run is one impression with longer visible time.

What does beta mean for advertisers?

Campaigns are reviewed manually, inventory is limited, and reporting or features may change during the beta. Advertisers get access to new formats, inventory, and campaign tools.

Do I pay before or after review?

After. You submit the campaign, we review it, and only then do you receive a payment link. Nothing serves until payment succeeds.

Is there a founding advertiser discount?

Yes. New campaigns get 30% off with code ADFOUNDER30 at checkout.

Can I use a GIF or video?

GIFs are flattened to their first frame. Video is not rendered. The placement is static so it stays readable and predictable in the terminal.

Can I edit a live campaign?

Live and paid campaigns are locked in place. Duplicate one to start a new draft. This keeps the approved version consistent while you prepare a new flight.

What happens if I don’t receive all impressions?

Delivery is paced across the flight. If a campaign is materially underdelivered, we can extend the flight by 30 days. The full policy is in the advertising terms.

Who sees my campaign?

Only the delivery system and Freebuild admins can manage it. The advertiser portal is scoped to your email, and other advertisers cannot see your campaigns or stats.
